How to Make Ceramic Nonstick Last
Ceramic nonstick cookware releases food easily with very little oil. A few simple habits help it keep performing well for years.
Everyday cooking tips
- Use low to medium heat. Ceramic heats efficiently, so high heat is rarely needed. Overheating is the most common cause of reduced nonstick performance.
- Add a little oil or butter. Avoid aerosol cooking sprays, which can leave a sticky residue that builds up on the surface.
- Do not preheat an empty pan on high heat.
- Use wooden, silicone or nylon utensils to protect the cooking surface.
Cleaning and storage
- Let the pan cool before washing. Sudden temperature changes can damage cookware.
- Hand wash with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft sponge. Avoid steel wool and abrasive cleaners.
- Dry thoroughly before storing. If you stack pans, place a soft pan protector or towel between them.
What is normal, and what is not
Some light discoloration and a gradual decrease in nonstick release over time are normal with any nonstick coating and are not considered defects. If you notice the coating flaking or peeling, stop using the pan and contact us at kitchvelle@gmail.com with your order number and photos so we can review it under the manufacturer's warranty.
